Victoria's Secret Angel American model, media personality, actress, occational singer, author and businesswoman Tyra Banks has added a new success in her life. This "America's Next Top Model" creator and host graduated with a certificate on February 17 from the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Friday, Us Weekly can confirm. Banks posted photos of herself with her certificate on February 23.
Banks, who dropped out of Loyola Marymount University to pursue modeling at age 17, enrolled in the prestigious program to better her brand. "Smiling ear2ear on the Harvard Business School campus w/ my diploma," the 38-year-old wrote on her Twitter page. She credited her mother for taking the photo.
Banks first announced she enrolled in the program back in March 2011. The Owner/President Management Program costs around $33,000 per week. Banks is known for her work as a supermodel, talk show host and co-creator of the reality show "America's Next Top Model." Banks also helms her own production company Bankable Productions.
"In order for my company to grow and be the best, and to reach these women, and to serve them, I needed the best," the Bankable Productions CEO told CBS News in 2011. "So I went to the best." Banks, now 38, admitted that her decision to pursue higher education was met with skepticism at first. "When people have low expectations, you're just constantly going, 'Ta-da!' And they're like 'Wow!'" she said. "It doesn't take a lot to wow them."
Prior to her Harvard education, Banks was lauded for being the first African American woman to appear on the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The California native has appeared in a handful of films (Life-Size, Coyote Ugly) and hosted her own talk show, The Tyra Banks Show, which ran from 2005-2010.
