American Idol 2002 Kelly Clarkson surpriced her fans saying that she wants not to cater to the public.

Kelly Brianne Clarkson, an American pop rock singer-songwriter and actress, did not consider herself worth of being a pop star and thought she would have a career as a back-up singer. She rose to fame as the original winner of the inaugural season of the television series American Idol in 2002 and would later become the runner-up in the television special World Idol in 2003. She also has had ten singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and has amassed worldwide acclaim for her music. Even with all her success fame is still an odd experience for Kelly.

She told USA Today, "Celebrity is weird." She feels like a normal person. When she reads articles about herself she is shocked by the coverage. Even She does not want to provide ammusement to the public. She lives her life according to the standards that she sets for herself. She surprised her fans saying that she went to American Idol just to pay her electricity bill. "My apartment in Los Angeles burned down and I had to move home, I had no money and I had to sleep in my car for three days," she said. "I just auditioned for this thing that said they'd pay you, and it happened to be 'American Idol'. I didn't go into it thinking this would happen, I went into it thinking it might pay my electricity bill."

Nevertheless, whatever her thought was, she has appeared with her new album "Stronger."
